The LaMelo Ball Signature PUMAs Maneuver Like a Porsche 911

While watching NBA star LaMelo Ball weave through defenders across 94-feet of glossy hardwood with his signature crafty handles, it’s not a stretch of the imagination to envision the Charlotte Hornets guard as a high-performance vehicle maneuvering the racetrack at full speed. Then pair the athlete’s on-court skills with his off-court affinity for rolling up to games behind the wheel of sports car, and it may explain the sportswear brand PUMA’s signature shoes in the all-new PUMA x Porsche Basketball Collection.

This isn’t the first go around for PUMA in partnership with the esteemed German automaker, with a capsule collection dating back to 2020. Neither is it their lone automotive partnership, with other motorsports collections racing alongside in the form of Mercedes-AMG Formula One team, BMW M Motorsport, and Scuderia Ferrari’s Formula One team sportswear.

Last year PUMA paid homage to one of Porsche’s most iconic models with The Porsche Legacy Turbo S Collection, a catalog of sneakers and apparel adorned in Porsche Lemon Chrome complemented by PUMA Black, Bold Blue, and Sand Dune.

Unlike those previous collaborations focused on motorsports fits, the 911 Turbo-inspired PUMA x LAMELO BALL x PORSCHE MB.03 revs up the aesthetics. The signature sneakers showcase a bolder, racing-inspired design with two-tone yellow on black color-blocking splashed across their midsole, upper, and aggressively-styled outsole. It’s clearly intent on turning heads.

The 98% rubber outsole lends grippy performance for stop on a dime traction. Nitrogen-infused foam is engineered to keep player’s feet well cushioned and stable while crossing over defenders.

The PUMA x PORSCHE collaboration is complemented by a second and more sedately designed PUMA x PORSCHE All-Pro NITRO™ Men’s Basketball Shoe, alongside hoodies, jackets, graphic tees, sweatpants, woven pants, and shorts to complete the coordinated wardrobe. If you find the yellow and black a bit too aggro, don’t fret – there’s also a second non-Porsche PUMA x LAMELO BALL MB.03 Blue Hive colorway available.
