Eskayel’s Forma Textile Collection Explores How Lines Shape Feelings

Eskayel’s founder and creative director, Shanan Campanaro, is once again leaning into her artist background to create the brand’s first collection of the year, Forma. Campanaro, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts in London, knows a universal truth about art – that a line becomes a shape and a shape in multitudes is able to convey a feeling. This is the theme of Forma, which consists of five new wallpaper and fabric patterns that are all based on original artwork by Campanaro.

Cascade in Lapis

Cascade is able to evoke the feeling of vertical motion, specifically that of tumbling water. Especially in the Lapis colorway, the pattern replicates the energy and sight of cascading water so well that you can almost hear the rolling sounds of the referenced experience. Cascade is available in four additional colorways including Garnet, Pearl, Quartz, and Tourmaline.

Hibiscus Lily in Amber

In comparison, Hibiscus Lily, two flowers characterized by their explosive blooms, is a quieter pattern that conjures up the imagery of flowers unfurling their petals. In the Tourmaline version, you can almost make out the outlines of leaves draped alongside their florals. The pattern comes in Amber, Garnet, Lapis, and Pearl as well.

Delta in Camel

Delta is especially artistic, conveying the experience of dipping a brush into watercolor paints and watching it ebb and flow onto paper. From distinct strokes to washes of pigment, the pattern metaphorically captures the transition from consciousness to dream state. Delta is available in Camel, Moonlight, Ocean, and Sand.

Orbs in Flamingo

The most abstract design of the five patterns, Orbs, is made up of dense-packed spherical forms that create a feeling of kinetic harmony. It’s available in the collection’s most expansive range of seven hues: Flamingo, Lapis, Mauve, Pebble, Rhubarb, Sol, and Tourmaline.

Pieces in Tourmaline

Last but not least, Pieces is the most literal design, consisting of puzzle pieces that effortlessly slot together. While the lines in this pattern are more distinct, the washes of color in the shapes maintain the artistic theme of the collection. Pieces comes to life in Amber, Garnet, Lapis, Pearl, Quartz, and Tourmaline.
