The JEFFREY Lamp Will Dampen Sounds + Brighten Rooms

When it comes to a room’s atmosphere, two factors greatly affect it: the acoustics and the lighting. After all, we do enjoy a space more when it provides an ambient level of sounds and thoughtfully placed lighting instead of a blanket of overhead fluorescents and deafening silence. The JEFFREY lamp, crafted by +kouple, addresses both of these issues with one single product. Designed by Dan Vakhrameyev, the modern fixture uses PET felt to dampen loud noises while adding intentional lighting, all to create a more calming environment.

The material used to make the JEFFREY lamp is provided through a partnership with Re:Quiet, a Kyiv-based brand that creates sound-absorbing materials. Using recycled plastic was a very deliberate decision by the brand in an effort to make more sustainable choices in manufacturing. “We must implement more and more recycled materials into our daily routine usage,” shares Kateryna Vakhrameyeva, CEO of +kouple. “In this way, we share the responsibility for improving the environmental situation and reducing the amount of waste on the planet.”

The JEFFREY lamp uses a GU10 socket, which can connect with LED bulbs in varying wattages, temperatures, and angles of light. The lamp can also be used on its own or connect with additional units via an adjoining panel that allows for multiple configurations. Not only does this create a dramatic light fixture, but it further mitigates noise pollution in a room. By mixing singular JEFFREY lamps with multiple interconnected pieces – of the same color or in any of the six +kouple hues available – you can create a visually stunning light fixture that doubles as an eye-catching installation. JEFFREY arrives flat packed and can be assembled quickly into its volumetric shape.
