The Tres Collection Proves That Good Things Come in Threes

The ancient Latin phrase “omne trium perfectum,” which roughly translates to “everything that comes in threes is perfect,” describes and foreshadows the future home furnishings collection Tres, designed by Valencia-based studio MUT Design. Created for Saba, the offering comprises two tables characterized by the reoccurring theme of three found in the cylindrical legs, rounded corners, and available finishes. The sculptural volumes play a supporting role in outfitting a space with curiously beautiful and unexpected objects while blurring the lines between function and art.

Tres manages to look and feel solid yet airy in a single glance, an expression made possible thanks to its pearl-like, iridescent finishes: opal shell, spring shell, and honey shell. The shorter of the two options offers more surface area while the taller variation can accommodate more narrow spaces. Soft in color and curves, the collection’s subtle sheen creates an interplay of light and shadow that is quietly alluring, bound to draw all eyes in wherever it goes.

The Tres tables launch this week at Milan Design Week 2024. For more information, visit mutdesign.com and sabaitalia.com.
