HAY relaunched the Crate Collection, their take on the original that was designed by Gerrit Rietveld in 1934. Based on Rietveld’s Crate Chair, the whole of the collection is distinguished by wide planks and a low silhouette.

5. After 17 Years the Ypsilon Bench Is Awoken

The bench’s stripped down design features angled, linear solid glulam beams, which rest on laser-cut and bent sheets of galvanized steel. The beams provide a comfortable seat, while the slope allows water to quickly run off the seating surface.

4. Balcony + Terrazza Glass Planters Feature Staggered Silhouettes

Inspired by biophilia, Balcony and Terrazza’s designs are sculptural and purposeful. Their individually mouth-blown glass pieces add a sense of calm to their surroundings by echoing patterns found in the natural world.
